We are seeking a passionate and skilled **Southern Comfort Food Cook** to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Southern traditions and a talent for preparing hearty, flavorful dishes like chicken fried steak, collard greens, mac and cheese, cornbread, homemade mashed potatoes and other regional staples. This role requires someone who values quality, consistency, and the warm, welcoming spirit of Southern hospitality. **Key Responsibilities:** * Prepare and cook a variety of Southern comfort food dishes following traditional recipes and standards. * Ensure all meals are prepared to the highest quality and presentation. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations. * Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. * Follow food safety guidelines and health department regulations. * Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient line during service. * Assist in menu development and daily specials featuring Southern classics. * Provide input on improving flavors, techniques, and presentation. **Qualifications:** * 1\+ years of professional cooking experience; Southern cuisine experience preferred. * Strong knowledge of traditional Southern ingredients, cooking methods, and regional dishes. * Ability to follow recipes while also having the creativity to enhance them when appropriate. * Excellent knife skills and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment. * Ability to work in a fast\-paced environment with a positive, team\-oriented attitude. * ServSafe or equivalent food handling certification required. **Working Conditions:** * Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs. * Work in hot, humid kitchen conditions. * Flexible schedule, including mornings/nights, weekends, and holidays.
