**Jerry Pittman is hiring 1st Class Marine Electricians in Pascagoula, MS.** **Rate: $40\.00 \- $41\.00** **Per diem $147\.04 \- $155 day paid if 75\+ miles from location with documentation with utility bill in the candidate's name (must work 2 hours minimum for per diem and maximum 8 hours per day of per diem)** **Basic Qualifications:** Must be US citizen or US permanent resident to apply. Must be able to pass a hair follicle test and background check. High School diploma or equivalent. Requires a minimum of four (4\) years of electrical experience in the commercial, industrial, or marine electrical field. **Preferred Design Disciplines:** One (1\) year shipboard experience (sonar, radar, power, internal communication, navigation, etc.) The ability to read marine blue prints and work from standard and metric specifications, wiring hook up, fiber optics experience. **Job Description:** First\-Class Electrician also called an Electrical Journeyman, is responsible for the layout, installation and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as the ships power. Electricians utilize an assortment of hand and power tools, a variety of test equipment along with a working knowledge of blue prints, drawings and schematics. Shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts. As with most every position in the shipyard, an Electrician may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. The company stresses the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.
