Diesel Mechanic Technician\-Construction/Forestry Equipment Job Summary: The Field Service Technician is responsible for the set\-up, repair, service, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and installation of replacement parts on diesel powered heavy equipment. This is a skilled trade position working in a shop setting. Diesel Mechanic / Service Technician Pay \& Perks: ● Pay from $25\- $35 per hour DOE ● Monday \- Friday ● Paid holidays ● Opportunities for advancement ● 401(k) ● Uniforms Provided ● Dental insurance ● Health insurance ● Life insurance ● Paid time off ● Retirement plan ● Vision insurance Diesel Mechanics / Service Technician Requirements: ● High School Diploma or GED equivalent. ● Must have basic mechanic tools to keep onsite. ● Candidates must be able to pass a background check, drug test and/or MVR check, as applicable for the role. ● Diesel engine, construction equipment and/or truck engine training and certifications through accredited technical schools or relevant experience preferred. ● Minimum 2 years previous hands\-on work experience as a diesel technician repairing heavy equipment or applicable diagnostic and troubleshooting experience as a technician in a heavy equipment shop. ● Ability to read and comprehend moderately difficult computer\-based schematics, specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, safety manuals, and other related publications. ● Basic mechanical systems knowledge of diesel engines/engine failures, electrical and hydraulic systems. ● Proficient in the use of mechanical test equipment. ● Basic understanding of computers and work order entry. ● Valid driver's license and acceptable driving MVR. Responsibilities: ● Disassemble, assemble, and install components and parts, including but not limited to, maintenance and repair of engines, chassis, driveline, body components, hydraulic systems, brake systems, suspension systems, wheels, and tires, powertrain, hydraulic, electrical AC/DC, and diesel engines in accordance with all prescribed quality and safety standards. ● Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. ● Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps. ● Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components. ● Test, measure, and adjust engine and machine systems and components. ● Prepare and submit detailed, complete, and legible service reports of all inspection and repairs performed using prescribed forms and procedures in a timely manner. ● Prepare, inspect and test operate machines prior to delivery. ● Maintain work area, tools, and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment. Candidates must be able to pass a background check, drug test and/or MVR check.
